Configuration
IMAP
Step by step email setup guide.
Update Email Settings
Configure your email for IMAP usage.
Step 1 of 4: Email Address
- Enter your email address.
- Provider is auto-detected.
- Some providers (like Outlook) require OAuth2.
Step 2 of 4: Password
- For OAuth2 providers, password entry is skipped.
Step 3 of 4: Start OAuth Flow
- Type y to start the OAuth authentication flow.
- A browser window will open so you can log in with your email provider.
- Currently required for Outlook.
Step 4 of 4: Catchall Domain
- Enter your catchall domain (e.g., example.com).
- This is optional and does not require further setup.
- Catchall will not work for IMAP — you still need a master email set up in Step 1 for receiving codes.
App Password Setup Guide
If your provider uses two-factor authentication (2FA), you must create an App Password for IMAP access.
Gmail
- Go to myaccount.google.com/security.
- Under "Signing in to Google", enable 2-Step Verification.
- After enabling, return and select App passwords.
- Choose Mail as the app and Other (Custom name) if needed.
- Copy the generated 16-character password and use it instead of your normal one.
iCloud (Apple)
- Go to appleid.apple.com.
- Sign in and go to Security > App-Specific Passwords.
- Click Generate an App-Specific Password.
- Enter a label (e.g., “IMAP Setup”) and click Create.
- Copy the password shown and use it in place of your regular password.
Yahoo Mail
- Go to login.yahoo.com/account/security.
- Enable 2-Step Verification if not already active.
- Click Generate app password.
- Select Mail as the app, then click Generate.
- Copy the generated password and use it instead of your main password.
